Delicious, Thick and Filling Strawberry Banana Milkshake with Chia Seeds. Breakfast smoothie that doubles up as a filling snack.

Strawberry Banana Milkshake with Chia Seeds

Made with juicy strawberries and ripe banana, this Strawberry Banana Milkshake or Banana Strawberry shake is an excellent breakfast smoothie for the whole family. Contains No Ice-cream or whipped cream.

Busy mornings call for easy no-cook breakfast options and this Banana Milkshake with strawberries is our go-to choice! Just add the ingredients to a blender jar and voila - it's ready!

Milkshakes are my preferred choice for a 4pm snack on days I don't want to depend on caffeine. This keeps me full until dinner time (also giving the much needed energy to cook).

Kids and adults both will love this breakfast option which by the way doubles up as a delicious and filling after school snack for kids.

If you love strawberries as much as I do, please try Strawberry Feta Salad, Strawberry Jam and Berry Smoothie

Ingredients

Strawberry - Use fresh or frozen strawberries (based on availability)

Note - Strawberries can be tart so please taste and adjust the quantity of honey, agave or maple syrup (vegan) or any other sweetener.

Also note that this milkshake recipe can be made using any berries of your choice - Blackberries, Raspberries, Blueberries etc.

Frozen Bananas - Adds natural creaminess and thickness to the milkshake.

I always stock frozen bananas for making smoothies. Freezing banana is a great way to prevent them from over-ripening or going waste.

Makes it easier for breakfast prep. Bonus - You don't have to add chilled water or ice to your smoothies.

Milk - I have used Organic Cow Milk. Feel free to substitute with any dairy-free milk or soy milk for a Vegan version. I would personally recommend Almond Milk for this recipe.

Chia Seeds - I have not used soaked or bloomed chia seeds for the milkshake. I usually just add a tablespoon while blitzing. Chia Seeds add fiber to the milkshake keeping you full for long.

Honey - You can use any sweetener of your choice. A tiny bit is recommended else the milkshake may taste slightly tart. Adjust the quantity based on how the strawberries taste.

Maple Syrup, Agave or Coconut Sugar can be used for a vegan recipe.

How to make Strawberry Banana Milkshake without icecream

In a blender jar, add roughly chopped banana, strawberries, honey and chia seeds.

Pour Milk, Blitz for 5-10 seconds until the milkshake is thick and creamy. Serve chilled.

Variations

This is a basic Strawberry Banana Milkshake recipe. It contains No Ice-cream or whipped cream. We avoid excess sugar and processed ingredients at home.

If you feel like indulging, feel free to add couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream or strawberry ice cream while blending the milkshake.

Substitute milk and honey with few scoops of ice cream and blend. Vanilla Ice cream or Strawberry ice cream are great choices. It adds thickness to the milkshake

Ice cream thickens the milkshake and makes it rich and creamy. It also contains a lot of calories and sugar so indulge with caution.

While serving milkshake, you can also top it with some whipped cream and sprinkles.

Serving Suggestion

Milkshakes are great to serve with veggie burgers, wraps or sandwiches.

When craving for some junk food, we love serving the milkshake with some french fries, potato wedges or smashed potatoes. Note - These appetizers are air fried / baked.

When serving milkshake for breakfast, we like combining it protein rich Oats Chilla or Moong Dal Chilla.
