Some other Air Fryer 4 pm Snacks that you would like to try at home are Air Fryer Onion Pakora, Vazhaipoo Vadai in Air Fryer AND Air Fryer Raw Jackfruit Cutlet

Here is How I made Roasted Chickpeas in Air Fryer

  • First Step is to Soak the Chickpeas and then Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Drain excess water and allow it to dry on a cloth for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • The cooked chickpeas should not be mushy like in case of gravies etc. It should retain firmness. (see the first picture on the left below)
  • Preheat your Air Fryer for atleast 10 minutes for best results.
  • At 160 Degrees C, Air Fry the Chickpeas with 1 tsp oil brushed lightly for 30 minutes.
  • After the initial 10 minutes of cooking, remove the air fryer tray, shake it a little / toss and then again repeat the process until its roasted.
  • After the chickpeas have roasted, remove them in a bowl, add chaat masala powder, red chilli powder and some pink salt to taste.

You can go ahead and make a big batch of these Roasted chickpeas and store it in an air tight container. I made a 1/2 kg batch post my test trial and have been snacking on it regularly. I also pack this for my husband’s 4 pm snack at work as well.

You can also enjoy these Air Fryer Roasted Chickpeas as a quick chaat by throwing in some boiled aloo or potatoes, some onions, tomatoes, chutney and chaat masala powder.

If you avoid adding potatoes, then add cucumber, radish or grated carrots too. I have personally tried all these combinations and let me tell you how happy I am to have roasted the chickpeas in the Air Fryer.
