Ingredients

Pineapple - I have used 1.2 kg fresh pineapple for this recipe. The skin, core is removed and fruit is sliced / cut into chunks or cubes.
If you have a busy morning schedule, freeze the ingredients (pineapple, lime juice, ginger) a day earlier.
Alternatively, you can use frozen pineapple from supermarket frozen section.
Canned Pineapples (preserved in sugar syrup) are not recommended (high sugar content).
Pineapples are a great source of Vitamin C. This ARTICLE provides information about the health benefits.
Ginger - Ginger aids in digestion, reduces heaviness and bloating which are usually the side effects of overeating or binging.
Ginger does add a bit of heat and can be overpowering for some. Adjust the quantity as per your preferences.
Turmeric - Superfood with anti-inflammatory properties.
Lemon - Enriched with Vitamin C. Adds a bit of a tang to the drink. You can easily substitute with freshly squeezed orange juice.
Mint Leaves - Refreshing and cooling for the body.
I have not used any sugar or substitutes like Honey, Agave, Maple Syrup etc. This smoothie is naturally sweetened with fruit sugars.
How to Make Pineapple Ginger Smoothie
In a blender jar, add the chopped pineapple chunks or cubes, mint leaves, fresh ginger, turmeric and lemon juice.

Blend with 1 cup of chilled water or ice cubes and serve.

Variations
The smoothie can be easily customized with seasonal fruits. Take a look at some of the variations or ideas below.

Mango - When fresh mangoes are in season, turn the drink into a Tropical Smoothie.
Go Green - Add a handful of KALE or SPINACH. You might want to use maple syrup or honey to sweeten the smoothie.
Banana - Frozen Bananas are great in bringing natural creaminess (without dairy) to the smoothie. You can easily skip ice cubes or chilled water, if using frozen bananas.
Dairy - Citrus Fruits and Dairy don't make a great combination. You can however use dairy-free milk like unsweetened coconut milk, oat milk or almond milk.
You can add other CITRUS FRUITS like Fresh orange juice, passion fruit, lychee etc.
Fresh COCONUT WATER can also be used instead of regular water for blending the smoothie. It aids in hydration and is cooling during summers.
