Irresistible, Aromatic Rose Dry Fruit Chikki or Dry Fruit Brittle are easy and perfect desserts for winters.

Rose Dry fruit chikki

My city, Mumbai doesn't really experience winters like North India does but nevertheless, it doesn't hold me back from making winter delicacies. So, the recipe I share here today, the Rose Dry Fruit Chikki or the Dry Fruit Brittles are perhaps one of the easiest desserts you can make with ingredients available in your pantry.

Dry Fruit Chikki Recipe

If you stock dry fruits at home to munch during the day, like we do, making this recipe is just a 30 minute task. However, I do not guarantee the brittles or chikkis to last for even 30 seconds. They are darn delicious, have the perfect texture, bite, filled with dry fruits and aromatic edible rose petals.

The Rose Dry Fruit chikki takes about 30 mins to cook. Also, let me tell you here, they taste just like the store bought ones. If you love the combination of rose petals and dry fruits and are also looking for a sugar free dessert option, then I urge you to try the No Sugar Dates, Rose and Pistachio Ladoos. They are soft, sweet, full of nuts with a hint of rose water and edible rose petals.

Easy Dry Fruit Chikki Recipe for Fasting

Making chikkis for the very first time can be a bit daunting, atleast I thought so a few years ago. To acquire the perfect consistency, the timing etc so that you enjoy crunchy chikkis instead of the sticky chewy ones that ends up in you making a dentist appointment.

With easy step by step pictures below on how to make the perfect Rose Dry Fruit chikki, this recipe would be a breeze to make at home.

I have used Raw Sugar here to make the Rose Dry Fruit Chikkis instead of Refined Sugar. I usually make Jaggery based chikkis at home but thought of making this for a change, especially for husband who adores it. We celebrate 8 years of meeting each other tomorrow i.e. Christmas Day so I thought the addition of Rose would be quite romantic.

Rose Dry Fruit Chikkis are a perfect gift idea too to your near and dear ones this festive season. It can be stored at room temperature in air tight boxes for atleast a week or more. Great for kids tiffin box as a treat or to carry during long distance travel for family (except Diabetics) this would be definitely loved by all.

Recipe with Rose Petals

Taking this recipe to the #176FoodieMondayBlogHop where the theme this week is Fruits and Flowers suggested by Priya Iyer. Check out her space.

I hope you love the recipe and make a big batch, share with your loved ones, just like I did. Let us check out the detailed recipe below, shall we?

You have to work very fast during the above process so that the sugar doesn't set and you get the desired thickness of the chikki or brittle.

Sprinkle the rose petals on top, press it with pallette knife and / or a rolling pin too (as shown in pic below) and cut the warm mixture into squares.

Phele congratulations on your meeting anniversary! That is so very romantic and so sweet that you remember it.
I raw sugar same as brown sugar? I googled but still not sure. Anyway I love the chikki and want to make it too. Wish we could see nature's basket the other day we could have brought some thing.

Thank you for reading thru and your wishes my dear. The raw cane sugar used here is similar to brown sugar but the percentage of molasses is what makes it slightly different. My personal observation is I found brown sugar a tad sweeter than the raw sugar used so I have been using this instead of the refined white sugar these days for everyday cooking and baking too. The Natures Basket visit would have been excellent and I hope the next time we get to do that for sure. I am glad that the year 2018 ended with us meeting finally! Such fond memories Archana and I have gained a friend for life!

Veena, add the rose petals to your everyday tea. They taste really good. Also I have another recipe with dates and pista ladoos that use the rose petals. If you are interested, please try them. They are sugar free dessert I tried during Diwali for distributing to Senior Citizens etc. Thanks so much
