Servings 25 pieces

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Raw Sugar 1 cup is 250 ml measurement
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Almonds or Badam
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Cashew or Kaju
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Pistachios or Pista
  • 1/4 cup Edible Rose petals + 1 tbsp Extra
  • Few Drops of Ghee or Clarified butter

Instructions

  • Roughly chop Dry fruits and keep aside.
  • Grease kitchen counter with few drops of ghee or oil.
  • Heat a non stick pan and add sugar.
  • Reduce the heat and allow the sugar to slowly melt. It takes about 3-5 minutes on low heat.
  • Keep stirring the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely. Do not leave it unattended else it will burn and you will have to start again
  • Take it off heat and add the dry fruits and rose petals. Now place the pan over the flame and mix it well.
  • Pour this mixture immediately over the greased kitchen counter and spread it evenly with a pallete knife.
  • You have to work very fast during the above process so that the sugar doesn't set and you get the desired thickness of the chikki or brittle.
  • Sprinkle the rose petals on top, press it with pallette knife and / or a rolling pin too (as shown in pic below) and cut the warm mixture into squares
  • Now allow the mixture to cool completely and the chikki will come off easily with a knife.
  • Store in an air tight container for a week or more.
