Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 Corn on the Cob De-husked Corn used
  • 1 ½ cups Water

Instructions

Prepping the corn

  • I have used store bought de-husked corn which means Zero Prep work. In case you are de-husking or shucking the corn at home, peel the outer leaves and remove all the silky tassles.

Instant Pot Instructions

  • Switch on the Instant Pot, Fill the steel insert with 1 & 1/2 cups of water, now place the trivet inside and place the corn on top of the trivet.
  • Close the lid, adjust the vent to sealing position. Pressure Cook on High Pressure for 3 minutes.
  • After 3 minutes, do a Manual Pressure release.
  • Carefully open the Instant Pot lid and allow the steam to escape. Use tongs to lift the corn and place it on a serving plate.

Notes

  1. A 6 Quart Instant Pot can easily cook 5 - 6 corn at one go. The cook time remains unchanged.
  2. Storage and Freezing - Once cooked, they can be cut and stored in an airtight container. These can be refrigerated for a couple of days and frozen for using in various recipes like soups, salads, chowder etc.
  3. Frozen corn can be thawed in a microwave or kitchen counter and used.
  4. Toppings or Seasoning Ideas - Lime and Chilli, Miso Butter, Jalapeno Butter, Cheese, Curry powder or Garam Masala Powder.
  5. Please note that the cook time mentioned above says 15 minutes whereas the recipe says 3 minutes pressure cook. This is because I have also considered the time taken for the IP to build pressure and release into consideration as well.
