Equipment

  • High Speed Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frozen Blueberries or use 125 grams
  • 1 ½ cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 2 Banana medium size or 4 small
  • 1 cup Yogurt unsweetened
  • 8-10 Dates seedless and roughly chopped
  • ½ cup Water optional for blending the smoothie (read notes)

Instructions

  • To a blender jar, add frozen strawberries and blueberries, frozen banana, dates and yogurt.
  • Blitz well until thick and creamy. Adjust consistency by adding 1/2 cup of water (optional). Serve chilled.

Notes

  1. I have used 1/2 cup of water to adjust consistency of the smoothie. You can either add extra yogurt or plant based / regular milk of your choice. This is optional.
  2. I make yogurt at home using cow milk and culture. You can opt for Greek Yogurt (thick and creamy texture) or any Vegan / plant based yogurt of your choice. Coconut yogurt will be a great addition. Use unsweetened yogurt and preferably the one that isn't flavored.
  3. Don't bother thawing frozen berries. You can directly add them to a blender and blitz.
  4. Use any dates of your choice. I typically use Medjool dates, Safawi and Omani dates at home for smoothies or making desserts, tamarind chutney etc. Other alternatives are honey, maple syrup, agave or stevia.
  5. I have not added nuts. Feel free to add almonds, pecans or unsweetened nut butters like peanut butter or almond butter. If you are allergic to nuts, skip this! Hemp Seeds, Chia or Flax are great additions.
